Jackson, Mississippi – Time is ticking to be counted in the United States Census, which helps to get the Mississippi millions of dollars of federal funding.
Mississippi, already trailing the nation in the number who have returned from census forms, and the deadline to send in is Thursday.
Sandra Jones, said it had not received any form of United States Census, but said it would do everything necessary to obtain accreditation.
“We need a lot of things here in Mississippi, which is based on the census,” she said.
The census figures may help to determine the number of seats to get Mississippi in Congress.
