Aral Sea Before And After

Aral Sea Before And After

The Aral Sea is one of the environmental disasters on the planet the most shocking, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon on Sunday also urged the leaders of Central Asian countries to intensify efforts to resolve the problem.
Once a lake in the world’s fourth largest, has shrunk by 90 percent since the sea rivers that feed has been converted to a large extent in the Soviet project to increase production of cotton in the arid region.
Has destroyed the economy shrinking sea fishing, once a strong and fishing boats that are left fallow in the sand, and leaning over as if they were dropped from the air. Has left the evaporation of sea sand and layers of salt too, which can withstand winds as far away as Scandinavia and Japan, which affect the local population with health problems.
