Dark storm in the sky Pittsburgh yesterday afternoon before the release of Wrath of the rain, lightning and strong winds that uprooted trees and power lines throughout the region, leaving more than 82,000 homes and businesses in the region without electricity.
At its peak, and reported 52 000 Duquesne Light customers lost electricity. Allegheny Power said 14000 of its customers in Washington County and another in Westmoreland County and 16,000 were in the dark.
Starting at 10 pm, Duquesne 23 000 customers remained without service.
